The role Bluetooth has played, and will continue to play, in the evolution of the IoT is hard to overstate. From consumer electronics to connected healthcare, Bluetooth has been ubiquitous and continues to evolve. Works With 2022 will feature technical courses for developers interested in integrating low-power Bluetooth connectivity for real-time locating services, energy conversion and storage, integrating into healthcare facilities and medical devices, and more.

This Year's Tracks Include

This is the year Matter will begin making its impact on the world. Works With 2022 will offer developers and engineers with a front-row seat to all the ways Matter is paving the way for a more unified IoT. The global brands driving the standard forward, including Amazon, Apple, Google, Samsung, and others will be there to share the latest developments as well as their insights and vision for the future of the smart home, and to provide in-depth training on how to design, build, and innovate on new products that unlock the power of Matter + any ecosystem.

Today’s IoT devices manage a lot of operations across standards, including sub-GHz, 15.4, and Bluetooth. But Wi-Fi is still the quickest way to connect devices to the internet and as part of the Wi-Fi track at Works With, developers will learn how to integrate Wi-Fi into their applications while managing coexistence, designing for power and security requirements, as well as navigating emerging certification standards.

Bringing machine learning (ML) to IoT applications reduces bandwidth requirements, saves power, and increases a device’s ability to make smarter decisions. Works With 2022 will feature an AI/ML track that offers a full course load for developers tackling ML applications. These include technical sessions and workshops focused on building ML into IoT applications with Silicon Labs components, as well as advanced classes led by Edge Impulse and SensiML using the new MG24 SoCs.

Amazon Sidewalk is extending the usefulness of smart home devices beyond the front door with its low-bandwidth, long-range connectivity. Works With features an entire dedicated track to exploring the design considerations that come with developing for Amazon Sidewalk, its architecture and infrastructure, and how it will benefit from AWS. These courses and sessions will go in-depth on how to harness Amazon Sidewalk’s use of Bluetooth LE as well as CSS and FSK radio protocols and building demos using the EFR32 family of SoCs.
